- Because Kaoru comes from a rather wealthy family, he can be kind of ignorant to the fact that other people didn't come from the same background as him.
- Kaoru's mother passed about a year or so prior to him attending Yumenosaki. He would have been around 14 at the time.
- He has severe issues with authority, and will go out of his way to disobey an order if he dislikes the person it's coming from.
- While surfing has helped his muscle tone and appearance a lot, he's still weak when compared to some of his unitmates. He doesn't want to get too muscular either, saying it'll put off the girls he attracts.
- Kaoru is very jokingly flirtatious once he figures out his sexuality, willing to tease those that he's close to. This teasing doesn't usually include anything physical, still holding onto those past fears.
- He talks to his dad far less than he used to and lives in the dorms pretty much full time to avoid going home.
- He surfs actively and actually volunteers to teach surfing classes to kids on the occasional weekend when he's not swamped with idol work.
- Given that at this point he's grown into his position as an idol, he considers himself a key member of UNDEAD and has risen to about the same level as Rei in terms of notoriety.
